Karrinyup
Karrinyup
A very convenient and family friendly suburb with good public transport and a huge shopping mall.

Karrinyup, Perth (north west)

Meet you at Karrinyup? Of course, we’ll be there anyway! Karrinyup is home to the Karrinyup Shopping Centre - one of the largest shopping complexes in Perth, and a meeting place hot spot for those in the northwestern suburbs.

Every time you visit “The Star of the North” you’re guaranteed to bump into someone you know, whether it’s your aunty or your old friends from school. So be aware, like most of Perth, there’s no hiding.

Of course if you live in Karrinyup there are other ways to pass your time, especially if you’re a yummy mummy. You could join the Karrinyup Country Club, or perhaps play a spot of golf at either the private or public course, depending on how much you’re willing to pay to enjoy yourself. You could take a walk through some of the extensive bushland that makes up about one third of the suburb, or follow Karrinyup Road west to the beach and let the kiddies play at Clarko Reserve.

The housing is fairly modern and mostly two-storey, with a variety of design styles due to a prolonged period of development. Karrinyup is 12km north west of Perth and is very much a couples and families suburb, suited to empty nesters, people with or without kids, and those with time and money on their hands.

There are three state primary schools located in the area, as well as the elite private college, St. Mary’s Anglican Girls’ School.

The bus station at Karrinyup Shopping Centre has services to Perth’s north and coastal suburbs, or to Stirling train station where you can hop on a train to Perth’s city centre. The freeway is easily accessible via Karrinyup Road, just don’t try using it to get to work quickly in the morning!

If you’re after a pleasant place to live, away from the hustle and bustle Karrinyup will suit you to a T. You don’t have to fork out the big bucks to call this place home, but if you can, it’s worth the extra pennies.
