18. RIVERCAT TO PARRAMATTA |
The rivercat trip from Circular Quay in the city, up the Parramatta River to Parramatta has great views. It goes past some of sydney's most exclusive suburbs and their waterfront homes. Parramatta is Sydney’s oldest settlement. It has a country town feel, good architecutre, an active arts community and mouth watering cafes.
There’s a short walking track along the river from Parramatta Wharf to Church St and its dozens of great cafes and restaurants. There is the Parramatta Heritage Information Centre on Church St at Lennox Bridge. From here, you may want to check out the Parramatta Regional Park in O’Connell St. There is an art gallery and tourist information office at the park.
For dining options, check out the PARRAMATTA profile.
GETTING THERE
Take the Parramatta Rivercat from Circular Quay to the final stop. You could also take a train from the city centre or buses, but the Rivercat is by far the nicer way to travel.
