Camberwell

    Camberwell, Melbourne (east)

Rent: rent prices are expensive

Vibe: Private schools and afternoon tea

Location: Parks, Near Swinburne

If you love loafers then pack your bags and move into Camberwell. This wealthy, middle class Melbourne suburb is soooooooooo comfortable. You'd be hard pressed to find a pauper here. Instead, it's more the sort of place to appeal to the well educated professional with kids in private schools. And to mums who like to do lunch. And maybe a movie star? Maybe Geoffrey Rush? Almost every part of regional Victoria has a winery or two or 30. They range from small, to boutique, to offering a complete indulgence - wine, good food and accommodation. Two of the most popular and scenic wine growing regions  just out of Melbourne are The Yarra Valley and Mornington Peninsula.
