Glenelg

    Glenelg, Adelaide (6-10km)

Rent: house rentals range from medium to high

Vibe: holidays

Location: Beach, 5-10km from city centre

Glenelg is the best known beach suburb in Adelaide. It's got a busy shopping strip, good access to public transport, schools, eclectic architecture, and is a tourist draw card. It's the Bondi of Sydney but with fewer young people. During weekends and holidays this place gets packed with kids of all ages who head to the amusement park, while adults gravitate to the beach or one of the many cafes. Glenelg used to be a quieter place but development in the 1990s began transforming  the suburb into what some locals think has become a rather ugly duckling. Thanks for the advice - really helpful! We were trying to 'test' out Manly, as we would like to rent/buy something there once we have settled in for a bit... But you are right, for temporary accommodation it seems way too expensive!!! Plus, I do not think we need to test it - from what I have expiernced so far, the place is magic! B)

Will look out for properties in the surrounding 'burbs!

Cheers,
mrpc

Hello

Will definitely try out the oaks appartments - they really look like a good option. Thank you, we would not have across them without you!;)

Hey, you are very welcome.

I'm glad you are finding it useful.

It's been a labour of love for me. I moved to Sydney for the first time about eight years ago and found I had to start from scratch.

I'm back in Sydney again and am only too happy to help out with any information because I know how hard it can be moving to a completely new city.

Feel free to get in touch anytime. And when I can, I will respond to any queeries.

Enjoy Sydney and I am glad you like Manly. Although I don't live there, I think it is a total jewel of a place.

Well,Verica,it has certainly been worth it - the site is the most useful one I have come across so far. Good luck with it and no doubt, I will be asking some more questions as we get closer to our move.

Kind regards,
mrpc
