Vaucluse, Sydney (east)
Rent: rental prices here are expensive
Vibe: Prue and Trude at home
Location: Beach, Harbour
Leafy, hilly, affluent, expensive houses, private schools, big parks, incredible views. Vaucluse is very much establishment. It’s about the closest thing you’ll get to a gated community without actually being one. This place attracts the more mature person, or someone with a healthy stock portfolio. Vaucluse is brimming with natural beauty - parks, historic homesteads, great beaches, bush walks. And it gets its name from a kidnapper! (More information below and to your left <<<)

Trying to get some idea of a good suburh for retirement in Sydney. Just think of being old, can't drive and really can't walk very far or up steep slopes.
Near beach would be a bonus.

Thanks for your suggestion. We are thinking of picking Bondi Junction because of the following reasons:
1) Close to train/buses
2) Lots of shops, supermarket, cafes, library etc
3) Mid-pt between city or Bondi beach.
4) Reasonable rental return and capital growth potential if we need to move into a nursing home later.
Does that sound like a good choice?
