Brighton

    Brighton, Melbourne

Location: Beach, Bay

Vibe: black, shiny 4WDs on parade

Rent: 2bdrm house $350 - $800

Man, come to Brighton on a weekend morning and you'll see what this place is all about. Firstly, you have to say Brighton with a refined accent. Brighton is an affluent, upper middle class, picturesque, family oriented, beach and bayside suburb in Melbourne's south east. It's popular with the over 45s crowd, and has its fair share of matronly style women with big blonde hair, bling and 4WDs (SUVs). (More information below... )

hi i hope to move to sydney at the end of september. I'm 19 and will be going out on my own. I have friends that i can live with when i first go over but it wont be long term.
I need all the info I can get about where would be the bestplace to live thats close to sydney, as that is where I will hopefully be working. I have a visa that will allow me to live and work in Oz.
I would be grateful for any information that you could give me on anything that relates to this.

Hey Crazydaizy,

have you checked out the cityhobo website? It has heaps of info on what areas are good for young people. The "find a new suburb" section is a shortcut to help you find a good place.

for starters - you can think about Bondi, Glebe, Newtown and maybe Surry Hills because all will be good for young people who want to live close to the city. All those suburbs are profiled on this website too. Good luck.

Hi Daisy,

I am moving to Sydney with my girlfriend at the end of August from the UK. Where abouts do you live in the UK? I would be happy to have a chat and swap info if you are interested?

Cheers

Steve
