Rose Bay

    Rose Bay, Sydney (east)

Vibe: Prepy

Location: Beach, Harbour

Rent: 2 br apartment: $320 - $850 pw

Rose Bay is another exclusive suburb in Sydney’s fashionable east. Large period or architect designed homes on large properties in tree lined streets, make Rose Bay one of the prettiest and most sought after suburbs. This place definitely has a private school feel about it. It has stunning harbour views, and a vibrant village feel on weekends. (More information below...)

Thinking of moving from Syd to Melb - Best Suburbs 2008/03/09 15:47 Karma: 0
HI
I am thinking of moving to Melbourne from my current beachside living in Syd.
I am struggling to find any info on nice safe suburbs in and around Melb.
I will be working at Tull Airport so i want to live within 30-35mins of this location.
Given that i am giving up the beach address i wouldn't mind a slightly more rural area if i cant be near the water. Inner city locations don't really appeal as i have dogs and don't want to live in a unit. Most of all i just want a safe suburb. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thx

Hi Soph, If you are going to be working near the airport, you could look at Sunbury. It's a semi rural area, with a small shopping village. I will try and get the profile on it done for you in the next couple of days.

Otherwise, try Essendon. It's about a 15 min drive from the airport and is a nice and safe area to live in.

If you wanted to live a bit further out in country Victoria, you could look at Daylesford. It's a happening country town with plenty of cafes etc, but it does get very cold in winter and will about a 30 - 40 minute drive to Tullamarine.
