Glenelg

    Glenelg, Adelaide (6-10km)

Rent: house rentals range from medium to high

Vibe: holidays

Location: Beach, 5-10km from city centre

Glenelg is the best known beach suburb in Adelaide. It's got a busy shopping strip, good access to public transport, schools, eclectic architecture, and is a tourist draw card. It's the Bondi of Sydney but with fewer young people. During weekends and holidays this place gets packed with kids of all ages who head to the amusement park, while adults gravitate to the beach or one of the many cafes. Glenelg used to be a quieter place but development in the 1990s began transforming  the suburb into what some locals think has become a rather ugly duckling. Where to live in sydney?!?! 4 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Hi guys,

I was wondering if any1 could help me, I have been fortunate to gain a placement with a company who's office is located in the Macquarie Park area. I was wondering where people would suggest is a nice relatively cheap place for a single young man to live.

Any advice of any kind would be greatly appreciated!

Phil

Hi Phil
I hope your search is going well
I guess it depends on your budget and how far you want to be from the city
Macquarie Pk is well serviced from Chatswood on the North shore but that is pretty pricey also anywhere on coast Dee Why Freshwater Narrabeen expect to pay $400 upwards for an apartment.Your trip from the coast therefore would involve a bus to Chatswood and then train
Public Transport is not great here so even though it looks close could take you an hour or so
I suggest Epping Ryde Parramatta The Hills District or Chatswood
If you could find somewhere in Chatswood you would be on a direct line to Mc Park and the city and not too fat from beaches

Let me know how you are going!!!!
