If you want a good cocktail - you cant beat longrain in surry hills. There's a great lounge where you can sit and test all the concoctions - including the famous ping pong! you can eat there as well! the food is brilliant..

The Lotus Bar at the back of the Lotus Restaurant in Challis Avenue in Potts Point has won all sorts of awards for its cocktails.
they make great margaritas. They cost $15 but are really good.

Man, you have to try the Sugar Lounge in Manly if you are after good cocktails that will make your eyes roll around in the back of your head.
It's on North Steyne above Henry Afrikas (which is a bit of a beach bogan hang out). But the Sugar Lounge upstairs is very very different and has some of the best cocktails I've ever had. The tapas food is DEEE LISH OUS.
In fact, I would go so far as to say they do the best food in Manly, and some of the best food I've had in Sydney. No kidding!
