Location: Beach, 5-10km from city centre
Glenelg is the best known beach suburb in Adelaide. It's got a busy shopping strip, good access to public transport, schools, eclectic architecture, and is a tourist draw card. It's the Bondi of Sydney but with fewer young people. During weekends and holidays this place gets packed with kids of all ages who head to the amusement park, while adults gravitate to the beach or one of the many cafes. Glenelg used to be a quieter place but development in the 1990s began transforming the suburb into what some locals think has become a rather ugly duckling. Try il Dolce Freddo in Lygon St Carlton for great gelati - it's homemade yummy!!

A great gelati place in Sydney is Gelati Messina in Darlinghurst on Darlinghurst Rd. It has flavours you probably won't find anywhere else and the quality is always good.

Gelati Messina has the BEST gelati in Sydney. Try the Toronne or the honey ice-cream. Either will make your eyes roll around in the back of your head.

Hands down the best is Bar Italia in Leichhardt....oh sooo good , i travel there just for the gelato. it's so fresh and luscious.

I tried it about two weeks ago. It's cheap and you get lots of it. Actually the food there is cheap too.
