Brighton, Melbourne
Location: Beach, Bay
Vibe: black, shiny 4WDs on parade
Rent: 2bdrm house $350 - $800
Man, come to Brighton on a weekend morning and you'll see what this place is all about. Firstly, you have to say Brighton with a refined accent. Brighton is an affluent, upper middle class, picturesque, family oriented, beach and bayside suburb in Melbourne's south east. It's popular with the over 45s crowd, and has its fair share of matronly style women with big blonde hair, bling and 4WDs (SUVs). (More information below... )

Frens brought me to a place in Bondi called Hurricane's for barbecue ribs. It was great for the novelty value - they were huge.
It tastes pretty good too. It's done in a hickory sauce style. And the place was packed. On a Tuesday nihgt, we had to wait 45 minutes.
It only costs $20 per person.

I've heard that's a good place. But is it popular because it's good or because it's cheap?
And is it full of backpackers?

As far as I can tell, there were no backpackers. Everyone was dressed up smart casual.
There were 5 of us and we spent $20 each. And there were still 3 pieces of ribs left after. - 1 full rack - 1 half rack - onion rings - 1 burger - non alcoholic drinks.
I have never had ribs this big and in hickory sauce before. It is pretty good.
3 years ago, I was at lowenbrau at the rocks and had lots of meat. Although they were different style, the ribs were much nicer I thought.
