Location: Beach, 5-10km from city centre
Glenelg is the best known beach suburb in Adelaide. It's got a busy shopping strip, good access to public transport, schools, eclectic architecture, and is a tourist draw card. It's the Bondi of Sydney but with fewer young people. During weekends and holidays this place gets packed with kids of all ages who head to the amusement park, while adults gravitate to the beach or one of the many cafes. Glenelg used to be a quieter place but development in the 1990s began transforming the suburb into what some locals think has become a rather ugly duckling. :P Hi, I went to a very very very good pizza place last night.
It's called Beaches and is on Darley Rd in Manly.
We didn't make a booking but they still managed to squeeze us in. The reason we didn't make a booking is because it was bucketing down with rain and we thought most people would prefer to stay home. Wrong! The place was packed. I guess it's because it has a great atmosphere and great food.
The pizzas are thin crust, gourmet, the services is really friendly and on Thursdays they have glasses of sparkling wine for just $3.<br><br>Post edited by: victoria, at: 2008/02/29 05:39
