Rose Bay

    Rose Bay, Sydney (east)

Vibe: Prepy

Location: Beach, Harbour

Rent: 2 br apartment: $320 - $850 pw

Rose Bay is another exclusive suburb in Sydney’s fashionable east. Large period or architect designed homes on large properties in tree lined streets, make Rose Bay one of the prettiest and most sought after suburbs. This place definitely has a private school feel about it. It has stunning harbour views, and a vibrant village feel on weekends. (More information below...)

Though I am not a native of Sydney .... YET, I can highly recommend the Manly Wharf to the Spit Bridge (as maggiegirl did).

Was in Sydney 3 years ago for holiday and after doing this, got interested in hiking / walking back in Perth. But so far, nothing around Perth metro compares to this.

My favourite pic:

I reckon I might give the Balmoral to Taronga Zoo walk another shot this weekend. I have friends from Melbourne visiting and I think they will love it.

Hey gfrylives, nice to know someone else likes the Manly to Spit Bridge walk. It's a winner!

There's another walk you can do next time you are in Sydney. It's called The Gap and begins over at Watson's Bay. The views of the cliff tops are amazing. But I still think the Manly and Taronga Zoo walks are better.

Hey, I did the Taronga Zoo to Balmoral walk too and loved it.

Later that same day we drove up to the Gap at Watsons Bay. The cliff views were breathtaking but I still preferred the Taronga Zoo walk.

We parked our car right on the water for $3. I can't remember the name of the place but if you drive down Bradley's Head Rd, just past the zoo there is a turn off to your left. Just keep driving all the way down the road. It's right on the water's edge and has really good views. It's a great place for New Year's Eve fireworks, a bit of fishing or just to impress yourself or any visitors.

Have you done any walks in Kuringai Chase National Park? Or the Royal National Park?

If you drive to either and get a map at the front gate, the rangers will be able to point out some very good hiking tracks.

Nope not yet. Just made it to Sydney Sunday. And it rains continuously for 2 days

When I settle in, and get my car, definitely will visit. For now, i will prolly go back to Manly to Spit bridge walk.

I cant believe some of my frens who have stayed here so long havent been on the walk yet. Sheesh. Dunno what they missing out on.
