Brighton-le-Sands

    Brighton-Le-Sands 2216

Location: Beach, Outer suburb/neighbourhood

Rent: 2 br apartment: $260 - $380 pw

Vibe: Greek holiday

Sun, sand, blue skies and Greek Yum Cha. What? Yep, there’s a Greek Yum Cha place in Brighton-le-Sands (a world first???). The flavour of this suburb is decidedly souvlaki and tzatziki, opa! There are Greek cake shops, coffee shops, cafes and even a Greek Australian Sports Hall of Fame. This is family and couples wanting to have kids territory.

Been doing bit of walking last few weeks 2008/05/24 16:20 Karma: 0
Did Kuringai Chase, Royal National Park and Manly To Spit walks over last 3 weeks.

The Kuringai walk, we started at one of the parks entrance and walked towards a town area and then to a park area which had lots of people there for picnics. I think the track was called Bobbin Head.

Royal National Park - did the Palm Jungle walk. Spectacular views of the coast. Went off track and got little lost. Counlndt even find our way back to track. Lucky saw another group of people who were on the track. Very nice views.

Today did Manly to Spit. Perfect weather. Very nice views of the coast as well.

Where to next week I wonder

I'm envious. I've never been to the Royal National Park. Sounds like you had a good time, even though you got lost.

Went to ShellHarbour last weekend. Not bad. Kinda different walk. Mostly on rocky areas along the beach. Very short (4km circuit) but challenging because rocky. The place is quite beautiful. There was a wedding reception near the start of the walk.

Yep the Palm jungle walk was prolly the best of the lot. Its funny how we got lost, we walked off track for a bit to see over the cliff to the beach, we had perfect visibility of where we were before we went off track, but could not see the track when we walked back there. The under growth was quite thick. We were prancing around for a bit looking for the track, stopped to have lunch and lucky saw a group of people on track and walked to them.

I understand camping is allowed there and there are huts. Next time, I will stay for a nite. And I understand there are quite a few other tracks there too.

Prolly no walkies this weekend with the foul weather.

Have you been to any walkies lately. Any recommndations.

I was recommended to go to Brisbane Waters. Will do that when weather clears.

Yeah I went to the blue mountains and did the 1000 steps walk except we walked down the steps, not up them. My calves were killing me the next day. it's a good walk which starts near the three sisters. it's best to do the walk early in the day to avoid all the tourists.

The place was called Giant Steps I think.

I went last weekend and walked up the steps. Like you my thighs cramped up as I was walking from Echo Point to Katoomba Trains.

But it was a good walk. Went along the Prince Henry Cliff walk and down into Leura Forest on the Federal Pass track. Turned up to Giant Steps half way. Quite a few waterfalls. Saw a couple of Lyrebirds too.
