Brighton

    Brighton, Melbourne

Location: Beach, Bay

Vibe: black, shiny 4WDs on parade

Rent: 2bdrm house $350 - $800

Man, come to Brighton on a weekend morning and you'll see what this place is all about. Firstly, you have to say Brighton with a refined accent. Brighton is an affluent, upper middle class, picturesque, family oriented, beach and bayside suburb in Melbourne's south east. It's popular with the over 45s crowd, and has its fair share of matronly style women with big blonde hair, bling and 4WDs (SUVs). (More information below... )

Bondi to Coogee walk 2007/06/25 16:10 Karma: 0
The walk from south end of Bondi beach around the cliffs to Tamarama, CLovelly, Gordons Bay and Coogee is one of the best in Sydney, winter or summer. Great views of the ocean, good cafes at each beach.
That and the walk from Manly/Fairlight to Seaforth and back to the bridge at Middle Harbour are the best picks for visitors to Sydney who love easy hiking and spectacular views.

Sounds great. Any idea how long the walk is? Does it get crowded on weekends?

It gets really crowded on weekends especially the Bondi to Bronte section. The rest of it isn't too bad because most people make it to Bronte and then head for a cafe.

The walk takes about 2 hours.

Is that two hours one way or return?

Actually, it is a great walk. Though I 've only ever made it to the Waverley Cemetary before I head back to Bronte for a drink.

Weekends can be a nightmare. If you have no option but to do it on a weekend, start very early if you aren't into crowds.
