Glenelg, Adelaide (6-10km)
Rent: house rentals range from medium to high
Vibe: holidays
Location: Beach, 5-10km from city centre
Glenelg is the best known beach suburb in Adelaide. It's got a busy shopping strip, good access to public transport, schools, eclectic architecture, and is a tourist draw card. It's the Bondi of Sydney but with fewer young people. During weekends and holidays this place gets packed with kids of all ages who head to the amusement park, while adults gravitate to the beach or one of the many cafes. Glenelg used to be a quieter place but development in the 1990s began transforming the suburb into what some locals think has become a rather ugly duckling. From all the feedback, I thought Matt mostly did women's hair. However, it turns out a lot if not most of his clients are men.
Thanks for all the feedback on him. It was on the strength of all of that, that I decided to book in with Matt.
He is seriously a good hairdresser. And like you say, he is witty and smart and fun and not the least bit a tosser. All of which is a bonus!
I really can't stand all those places where you feel like you have to look like a model before you can enter the shop to have your hair cut.
I'm not sure how to describe the place, it's like nothing I have ever been to before, but I have now become a convert.
Go Matt. Thanks city hobo.

Just wanted to say I've been back to Matt a few times and I am going to have to kidnap him and take him with me if I ever move.
