North Ryde, Sydney
If you want to live in a pleasant, low key suburb with a lovely village feel, and you work in the IT industry, or pharmaceuticals, or Macquarie Hospital, or go to Macquarie University, then this is the place for you. North Ryde does not have a personality that screams out at you but it is easy on the eye, and a good, mainstream choice for this part of town. It's also the birthplace of the Granny Smith apple! This place tends to attract families, and quieter singles and professionals, rather than party goers. Walking down North Ryde's main road, Coxs Rd, you get a feeling that you are in a small country town.
The architecture here is a mixture of large and smaller homes, and apartment blocks. The local shopping centre is a reasonable size with a good variety of shops offering pretty much everything you may need.
Parking is generally fine. The vibe: village community. Shoe equivalent: black work shoes, Gola. Would suit: ages 25+, families, professionals, students. Location: Parks. Postcode: 2113. Distance: 15km from the city centre. Direction: North West.
