Woollahra
Queen St in Woollahra - where the well heeled and cool like to have breakfast on weekends.
Woollahra 2025OK. You want antiques, art, designer clothes and gourmet food? Then Woollahra will be your nirvana. It’s a sought after suburb especially popular with the finance and law sets, and anyone with a bit of extra moola who likes being close to things, but also appreciates peace and quiet, sans riff raff. Bogans and disco heads who like doof doof music rarely venture into this part of Sydney. It's not cheap to live here, but it is very nice. (More information below...)
Woollahra has been through a fair bit of gentrification. It has well kept big Victorian and Edwardian homes and small workers cottages in tree-lined streets. The village centre is set around Queen Street, which is a popular hangout on weekends with its cafes and upmarket boutiques. Woollahra is also home to a few embassies, and let's face it, they generally like having offices in fashionable, wealthy places. Want a nice place for your wedding photo? Try Chiswick Gardens on the corner of Wellington and Ocean streets.
