Vibe: Life is good

Rent: apartment rents are at the lower to mid range, house rental prices are mid range

Put it this way, if you have an above average wage and like living in a nice area, then Wilston could be your thing. This suburb has come a long way from its seedy past to now being one of the top suburbs in Brisbane. It is hilly with fab city views; has great architecture; a very good local shopping village with good cafes and an excellent chocolate shop; nice parks; it's very close to the Royal Brisbane Hospital, and is on the train line. BURWOOD

This suburb is a bit of a surprise. It has a very appealing central shopping district with plenty of cafes, Asian restaurants and a Westfield shopping centre. It is clean, has large family homes and excellent access to pulic transport. More >>


PARRAMATTA

Parramatta is the commercial and retail centre of the West. It has a laid back feel, and great ethnic diversity. Sure, it’s a fair way out from the city centre (about an hour by car), but Parramatta has a strong family feel, a good arts scene, and a vibrant café strip in Church Street which would be the envy of many suburbs.
