An upper middle class suburb in Adelaide's east, popular with families, executives and professionals.
Burnside, Adelaide (6-10km)Burnside is one of the most chi chi areas of Adelaide and is typical of many of the eastern suburbs. The City of Burnside has many smaller suburbs including those in the foothills, and is home to some of Adelaide's wealthiest people. It is the establishment epicentre, and has quite a few ladies-who-lunch types. The streets are leafy, the homes range from nice to stunning, there are plenty of open spaces, gardens and parks, good private and public schools, Adelaide's most upmarket shopping centre (Burnside), an art house cinema, plenty of families, and a well educated ageing population.
