Darrrrrling! Chi Chi. Ascot and Hamilton are where the rich and upper middle class live in Brisbane. But being Brisbane, they're not exactly snobs-ville. Ascot and Hamilton are prestigious, old wealth suburbs with large homes, great city views, private schools, a well presented shopping village, professionals, executives and a racecourse. No rif-raf here. OK yah! (More information below and to your left <<<)

Racecourse Rd is where the locals like to shop. It's an attractive village shopping strip in a street with large trees.
There are some smaller houses around Racecourse Rd in Ascot, but that's more of an anomaly. Some of the houses in Hamilton are extraordinary and have fab views, security fences, expensive cars and people with huge bank accounts and a history of wealth in the family. Their kids go to private schools. Yah! But there are plenty of people here who don't have kids.
There are many renovated Queenslanders here too. Ascot and Hamilton are both very safe suburbs that appeal to the upper middle classes. The transport here is quite good.
Parking is usually OK. Vibe: Prue and Trude. Shoe equivalent: Bally, Country Road, Ferragamo. Would suit: families, executives, high paid professionals, the filthy rich, filthy rich people wannabe's and empty nesters. Location: river, parks. Distance from city centre: Hamilton - 5km and Ascot - 7km. Direction: east. Postcode: 4007 for both.
