Brick houses with white ballustrading. McMansions. Familes. During the 1970’s, Avondale Heights was the suburb aspirational working class people, mostly of southern European descent, moved to, to bring up their young families. In the last five years, Avondale Heights has witnessed the emergence of designer family homes. This suburb is orderly, family friendly, safe, clean and tidy. It has large nature strips, a small local shopping centre and great access to the picturesque Maribrynong River.

While public transport is available, you wouldn't want to live here without a car.

Parking is no problem. The vibe: suburbia. Shoe equivalent: Nine West, Hush Puppies. Would suit: ages 30+, families. Location: River, 5 – 10km from the city centre. Direction: West.
