This is high rise apartment city popular with single men, professionals and executives. Rentals here are not cheap.
Southbank, Melbourne
Southbank is meant to have the highest number of single males in all of Melbourne. Depending on which part of Southbank you live in, it can either be prime real estate, or a windy, soul-less place. Southbank is walking distance from the city centre, the Botanic Gardens and all the art galleries. The place is built for professionals on the go for whom staying at home is not high on the agenda but access to bars, restaurants and work is. (More info below and to your left<<<)
apartment rents are in the mid range to expensive range

There are several high rise apartment buildings in Southbank and almost all are very new. Yes, many would have very good views, but if you stepped out on your balcony at one of these, chances are you'd get a blowdry for your wet hair in 10 seconds flat.
Some of the Southbank apartments are lower rise and look pleasant. The ones closest to St Kilda Rd are well kept, prime real estate and offer great views.
There are only a few smaller supermarkets in the area so if you wanted to do a big shop, you'd need to go to South Melbourne. It would be cheaper too.
