Mona Vale
A family suburb on Sydney's northern beaches
Mona Vale, Sydney (northern beaches)Mona Vale is suburbia by a surf beach! It's got a relaxed feel to it, plenty of brick family homes, and a large village shopping centre with a handful of good cafes. It's definitely family territory where swimming, and hanging out on the beach or ocean pool are a regular part of every day life. Mona Vale has very good public transport (buses), a golf course, and a public hospital. (More info below...)
> MONA VALE ON NORTH SHORE MAP
Mona Vale has great surfing, a rock pool for swimming laps, a kids pool, and it's popular for snorkelling. There is a large village style local shopping centre including a modern shopping precinct called Pittwater Plaza. Warning - do not do your supermarket shopping at Coles in Pittwater Plaza on a Sunday morning unless you like the idea of waiting FOREVER to be served. Solution: put some more staff on Coles!!!
A bus trip from Mona Vale into the city centre will take about one hour. There are plenty of family homes here, and a good number of apartment blocks, many in tree lined streets. Generally, rents here a little bit cheaper than those closer in to the city. Vibe: Beach walk. Would suit: families, professionals. Location: northern beaches, outer suburb.
