Sans Souci is family territory. It's in a quiet part of Sydney where most houses either have water views or are walking distance from them. There is a mixture of modern designer homes, and single storey brick homes. The place exudes a relaxed, slower pace. The main shopping strip is smack bang on Rocky Point Rd, which means shopping along here is noisy and doesn’t lend itself to a village atmosphere. But once off the main road, the noise level drops considerably.
One one side of Rocky Point Rd, there are old period homes, and modern two storey houses ideal for families and empty nesters. On the other side are more modest homes and few apartment blocks - the daggy 70's style. Overall, though, there is a feeling of space and serenity.
Parking is no problem. The vibe: low key, every day is Sunday. Shoe equivalent: Rivers. Would suit: ages 40+, families, older professionals, empty nesters. Location: Beach, Botany Bay. Postcode: 2219. Distance: 17km from the city centre. Direction: South.
